Saturday 28th November 2009
Waverton 0 v Greenleas 4
The girls started the game well and matched Greenleas for both effort
and skill, putting some good passing football together from the
start. After 15 minutes the ball was won in the middle of the field and
one of the Greenleas girls ran with the ball and unleashed an
unstoppable shot to make it one nil to Greenleas.
The girls kept their heads up and continued to press with some good
efforts and passing moves but again two well struck goals from just
outside the penalty area made it three nil to Greenleas.
The second half saw a tightly fought affair and with Waverton pressing
for goals a long ball up field saw a greenleas player unmarked and she
slotted the ball past the keeper to make it four nil.
The last ten minutes say Wasverton press for a goal and two great
passing moves nearly ended with two deserved goals. But it wasn't to be
and despite the pressure the Greenleas defence stayed strong and at the
final whistle the score remained four nil.
The girls deserved much more out of the game but should be very proud of
their performance this morning - well done to everyone - a credit to the
club
